My Steampunk Pepper Gun

For quite a while I've wanted to make a Steampunk gun, but I never found anything that actually inspired me. I looked through a multitude of toy guns, but they just weren't what I wanted. I finally found the perfect thing in a thrift shop, a broken pepper mill being sold for $.50!

Steampunk Navajo

Last year at TeslaCon 1 I wore a Navajo Steampunk outfit, and I thought it was high time to write a post about that.
First, I should say that as far as I know I have no Navajo heritage. I made this costume because I really like the aesthetic of Navajo art, particularly their clothing. I also wanted to explore steampunk in a different direction, most of the characters/outfits I've seen have been very Euro-centric. Thinking about what a Navajo approach to steampunk would be let me be a bit more creative than I might have been otherwise.

Dream 12/02/2010

I'm in  military training. We're all housed in a large labyrinth of a complex that manages to incorporate the feeling of both a school swimming complex, a prison, and a tree house. I keep taking what I think are shorter routes to destinations, but I keep getting lost or sidetracked.

During downtime some friends and I are hanging out. Two new girls enter our space and join us. One of them is someone I have a crush on, the other one is attracted to me. I keep meaning to interact with them, but I get sidetracked. When I next look up they have both left.

Rapunzel vs Tangled, A Review Part 1

This is both a movie review and a multi-segment intellectual comparison of the movie and the fairy tale Rapunzel. If you are only interested in the intellectual discussion please skip to the section labeled Comparison.

Today I saw Tangled, an animated Disney movie that is based on the story of Rapunzel. Before I get into the meat of the review, let me get the trivial aspects out of the way. The movie was good, and if it comes out on video I'd buy it at around $5, which for me is saying something as I actively avoid owning movies that I don't appreciate.
